People open up to conversation more intensely when their areas of need are stimulated. It is at this point that sharing our faith reaches its highest level of concern.
How can we stimulate a person to listen to the message? Touching during the telling of a story its most sensitive areas.
What would those sensitive areas be? Those areas that are exposed as Isaiah says:
“But the wicked are like the stormy sea, which cannot stand still, and its waters throw up silt and mud. There is no peace, said my God, for the wicked. " Isaiah 57: 20,21
It is the same people who show their needs, cannot contain themselves and throw them before those who are willing to listen to them. This is why storytellers can touch on exposed areas such as: lack of purpose and guidance in life, loneliness, insecurity, dissatisfaction, fears, etc.
What should they do to touch those exposed areas?
1.Listening with attention and interest
2. Sharing something from your experience that relates somewhat to their situation
3.Concluding how you faced and / or face your problems
In my next blog I will show you a story where this is done.
See you soon!
