Is God Still by Your Side When You Fail Him?

You may have heard the expression "no one is perfect." The truth is that we all fail. In 1 John 1: 8 the Bible speaks to the believer saying: "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Undoubtedly, we all fail God. However, the Bible does talk a bit about failure and helps us realize that God is with us at all times. And the reasons are as follows:
1. God knows you fail him
No one you know is perfect, and almost everyone can describe at least some flaws. God understands and prepares us for that in Proverbs 24:16 where the word of God encourages us with these words: “For the righteous one falls seven times, and he rises again; But the wicked shall fall into mischief." We are not perfect, not even in our faith, and God wants us to understand and accept that.
2. God raises you up again
Proverbs 24:16 itself tells us that although God knows that we are going to fail from time to time, He supports us and helps us get back on our feet. Is it easy to accept failure? No. Can it hurt us and make us feel depressed? Yes. But, that's where God steps in to help us work through our anger and disappointment at what we've done. In Psalm 40: 2-3 he tells us: “And he brought me up out of the pit of despair, out of the muddy mud; he put my feet on a rock, and made my steps straight. He then put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God. Many will see this, and fear, and trust in Jehovah. "
3. God wants you to rectify
God helps us to get out, gives us the strength to do it. But does that mean that we must stop at failure or repeat the same behaviors? No. God wants us to acknowledge our shortcomings and work to improve ourselves. Sometimes that means moving on to something else that we can do better, or just exercising more to better deal with the situation next time. Other times it means being patient so things work out on their own. The prophet Jeremiah tells us in Jeremiah 8: 4-5 the following: “You shall also say to them, Thus says the Lord: He that falls, shall he not rise up? He who deviates, does he not return to the path? Why is this rebellious people of Jerusalem in perpetual rebellion? They embraced deception, and they have not wanted to turn. "
Take these three reasons to understand that even if you fall, God does not turn away from you, since He knows that this will happen. But, God hopes you don't stay there. Get up! and lean on Him and on the counsel of His divine word. And put back on your legs, rectify your walk, to avoid tripping over the same stones, and in this way, continue your way through this life. God bless you! †
