2 Things You Should Know About the Power of the Holy Spirit

Briefly, let me quote you two things you should know about the power of the Holy Spirit.

First, the Holy Spirit has the ability to act effectively as creator. We see this in creation where his power is perfectly manifested creating, as a single event, all that we see of what was not seen (Genesis 1: 1-2). But his creative power does not stop at the physical creation of the heavens and the earth, as it continues to create new lives in those who are dead in sin, producing in them a new life spiritually (Titus 3: 5).

Second, the Holy Spirit has the power to influence not only the behavior of others, but also the course that events take. We can see this clearly in the book of Acts where Philip, an evangelist, is guided towards his meeting with the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8: 26-40). This was not a chance meeting; God had planned that Philip present the gospel to the eunuch. What we cannot affirm is that the Spirit forces someone to obey the gospel. This is a very personal decision of each one in their free will given by God himself. The gospel was preached in the first century thanks to the power of the Holy Spirit who enabled the disciples to face a very difficult world with the gospel of Christ (Acts 1: 8; John 14:17; Acts 2: 1-4).

I conclude with the idea that the Holy Spirit, as I mentioned in the second point, not only influenced the lives of the first Christians, but continues to do so today to carry out the main purpose of God, which is, that every man may be saved. His power directs us, convicts us, teaches us, and equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3: 16-17). Just as he worked perfectly in the beginning of all things, the Spirit of God, through His inspired word, desires to recreate man, spiritually, to be complete in God, and prepared for everything.
